2009 5AAAAA AREA COACH OF THE YEAR
Coach Auld has been leading the Lady Warriors Volleyball program since 2006 as head coach. Prior to taking over the volleyball program, Coach Auld served as the JV Boys Basketball coach under Head Coach Terry Gorsuch for five seasons.
In his first year as head coach he expanded volleyball at North Cobb to include a middle school volleyball program. With the goal of winning the 5AAAAA area championship within 4 years, Coach Auld began developing his teams. In 2007, 2008 and 2009 his team made it to the State Sectionals. 2009 the Lady Warriors won the 5AAAAA area championship with a perfect area record! This is the first volleyball championship in North Cobb School history. 2009 ended with the most match wins in school history (44-10). Coach Auld comes into the 2010 season with an overall record of 114 match wins and 82 losses. Coach Auld is very excited about his returning team and is hopeful for a repeat area championship and going further in the State Sectionals.
Coach Auld graduated from the American University in Washington, D.C. with a degree in Criminal Justice and minor in Psychology. He furthered his education by earning a Masters Degree from Georgia State University. He began teaching at North Cobb High School in 2001 where he has served as a member of the social studies department.
Coach Auld lives with his wife Ilesha, and two sons, Alex and A. J. in Acworth. |
